Characteristics:
Ibex Characteristics. Ibex stand 30 to 105 centimeters at the shoulder and are 1.2 to 1.7 meters in length, with a 10 to 20 centimeters tail, and weigh 30 to 150 kilograms. Males are a deep brown color, with a white patch on the rump in the summer. Females are lighter and tan in color.
Habitats:
Ibexes tend to occupy steep, rocky habitats at elevations of between 6,500 – 15,000 feet (2,000 – 4,600 metres).
Diet:
Ibex are herbivores; they only eat vegetation, such as shrubs, bushes and grasses. Grazing accounts for a significant part of their eating habits. The low nutritional value of their diet means the ibex must spend much of the day eating.
